Journals

Here are links to some journals that deal with conspiracy and cultural paranoia (among other things).

  • Covert Action Quarterly
Non-mainstream news, challenging the 'democratic nature' of American society. Not updated since 2005.
  • Disinformation
Interesting site edited by Richard Metzger. Claims that "DisInformation will provide a portal to the emerging radical intellectual movement flourishing in the World Wide Web community and point users of the service towards the highest quality, most powerful and culturally important information the Internet has to offer." Seems to belong in the "Fusionist" category from its attitudes, links and choice of materials, though many would think it has a Right wing slant.
  • Fair Play Magazine
Defunct since 1999, but back issues remain online. Deals with the question of Lee Harvey Oswald's guilt in the JFK Assassination.
  • Lobster
Journal which investigates "state espionage, government conspiracies, the abuse of governmental power, and the influence of the intelligence and security agencies on contemporary history and politics", with the UK and the USA.
  • Magonia
Marvellous journal with considerable pedigree. Lots of interesting materials and links "interpreting contemporary vision and belief".
  • New Dawn
Founded in 1991 in Melbourne aims to present "provoking political analysis, hard-to-find esoteric insights, and valuable pointers to health alternatives... challenging one’s unexamined assumptions about the world we live in".
  • Nexus
An international bi-monthly alternative news magazine, covering the fields of: Health Alternatives; Suppressed Science; Earth's Ancient Past; UFOs & the Unexplained; and Government Cover-Ups. Published since 1986, with no political, religious or spiritual affiliations.
  • North Coast Xpress
Published 1996-1999. Bi-monthly magazine dedicated to information, dialogue, and empowerment. Their aim was "to promote the democratic ideals of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, provide a forum across the political/cultural/class divide in America, share information and ideas, support grassroots movements for change, and provide a voice for underrepresented minorities".
  • Saucer Smear
"Official Publication of the Saucer and Unexplained Celestial Events Research Society", online since 1994, with paper issues going back to 1954.
  • Skeptic Magazine
Magazine of the Skeptics Society, which "engages in scientific investigation and journalistic research to investigate claims made by scientists, historians, and controversial figures on a wide range of subjects".
  • Steamshovel Press
    "All conspiracy, no theory"
  • The Flying Saucer Gazette.
"A Celebration of Modern Ufology". Good and irreverent journal which discusses a wide range of issues, eg conspiracy, black helicopters, etc. Last updated 2005.
  • The Fortean Times
Founded in 1973, Fortean Times is a monthly magazine of news, reviews and research on strange phenomena and experiences, curiosities, prodigies and portents.
